GMail Labs has introduced a new feature called Undo Send in GMail. Once you enable that feature in GMail Labs under Settings, then If you press Send on an email and then decides that you shouldn’t have sent that email, you can click on the Undo button to stop the email from reaching the recipient(s). The first screenshot below shows the feature and the second screenshot shows the undo option. The third screenshot shows the screen that you’ll be presented after you press the undo button.

The undo option is available only for 5 seconds, so if you are going to change your mind, you have only 5 seconds to change your mind. This is how it works. Once you press the send button, GMail will say the mail was sent, but it won’t send the mail until after 5 seconds. If you press the undo button, you get the mail back. If you don’t press it within 5 seconds, then the mail is sent. It’s a neat feature which might help at times.
