Mozilla Messaging - New home for Thunderbird email client
You might have read the news few months back about Mozilla's plan to move Thunderbird to a separate organization settings. Mozilla has created a new subsidiary namely Mozilla Messaging which will take care of Thunderbird development starting with Thunderbird 3.0. Thunderbird 3.0 will integrate Lightning calender with the email client, better searching capability and user interface changes.
The aim of Mozilla Messaging is not just email. As the name implies, Mozilla Messaging might integrate/interconnect in future, all messaging applications like email, RSS, instant messaging, SMS, social networking sites etc. For more information, refer to David Ascher's blog (CEO) and Mozilla Messaging website.
