Microsoft charging customers for free services?

According to Windows Secrets, thousands of customers are paying almost $120 per year for Microsoft subscription services that are also offered free or with equivalent services with Windows Live and through Windows OSes. Windows Secrets has a table with the list of premium services offered by MSN Premium and it's equivalent free services. What a rip off!!!
