Novell lay off AppArmor programmers
Novell laid off AppArmor founder and developers on September 28th. Novell acquired Immunix, the company that developed AppArmor software for Linux. The layoff announcement was a surprise for Crispin Cowan, the founder of Immunix. However he and two other laid off developers launched an AppArmor consulting company called Mercenary Linux to support AppArmor development.
If you don't know what AppArmor is, AppArmor is a security software for Linux which system administrators can use to restrict the capabilities of each program and create a security profile for them.
