Bleezer – Blogging tool for all OSes

I don’t like the way Microsoft and it’s softwares work, but that shouldn’t stop me from appreciating Windows Live Writer (beta). It’s a pretty neat product from Microsoft, which is a surprise. It’s simple, easy to use with quite a good number of useful features especially for handling images. I’m using this to post my blogs for last few weeks. I really like it. I didn’t see any alternative blogging tool that is as good as Windows Live Writer. What makes me sad is, I didn’t come across any good blogging tool similar to Windows Live Writer, for Linux.

I came across a blogging tool named Bleezer, which is platform independent (available for all platforms including Linux), thanks to Deflexion. Some of the highlights of Bleezer are:

  • Works with Windows, OS X, Linux
  • Works with many blogging service
  • Tags
  • Spell Check
  • Ping Technorati, weblogs.com, ping-o-matic etc
  • Work offline or online
  • It’s free

The disadvantages (keeping me from using Bleezer) are, as mentioned in Deflexion:

It doesn’t let you edit the entire HTML source of the blog posting and powered by Bleezer tag at the bottom of each post.

I found the following 2 extensions that might do the same job, though I don’t have them installed.

I tried performancing and it’s pretty good. I liked it. The problem now is, I want something that auto resize the images like how Windows Live Writer does. I don’t want to create a small thumbnail. It should be a decent size as you see in my blog.

As far as copy image, I don’t know which extension installed it since I’m using it for a long time. I have the following extensions installed:
    Nightly tester tools
    Cute Menus – Crystal SVG
    Dictionary Tooltips
    Forecast fox enhanced
    minimize to tray
    IE tab
    undoclosetab
    all-in-one gestures
    image zoomer
    spoof stick
    google safe browsing
    google suggest
    Gmail manager
    Adblock plus
I don’t know which one installed that option.

It would be great to have a similar tool as windows live writer for linux, but Performancing does a pretty good job. As Krish said, you can’t really compare them.

How can you copy the image in firefox? I can only copy the image location

  4. Krish says:

Performancing doesn’t compare with Windows Live Writer. It is more of a Firefox Plugin. But it is a very handy tool.

BTW, Windows Live Writer may be user friendly. As it with any other Microsoft product like Frontpage, it introduces lot of crap in the html code.

  5. Arun says:

I didn’t try that. Does it allow copy & paste of images from Firefox directly? I can right click, copy image and paste it in Windows Live Writer, which then automatically adjusts the image size with a link to original size. Does performancing have this feature?

Have you already tried Performancing? http://ralph.n3rds.net/index.php?/archives/132-New-Blog-editor-Performancing-for-Firefox.html

I too don’t like Breezer. Not only about the powered by stuff but also that it doesn’t show you the history of your blog.
